Vajrapani (Bodhisattva & Buddhist Deity)

Tibetan: ཕྱག་ན་རྡོ་རྗེ།

Several years ago I went to a healing retreat in India. I saw a Chinese Doctor, an Ayurvedic Doctor and a Tibetan Doctor. The Tibetan Doctor only sat and felt my energy and told me that the problems were originating from my thoughts. He also told me I had Bodhisattva energy. We can all have Bodhisattva energy. I’ve been searching since I was young for the connection to spirit that would enable me to not only experience the world in a new way but also to help others because through that experience we are not only helping ourselves but also aiding in connecting to universal energy.

Vajrapani’s name means, literally, “Indestructible Hand” — the Hand of the Buddha.  He is one of the three great Bodhisattvas, together with Avalokiteshvara (Chenrezig, Guanyin) and Manjushri, who respectively represent “power of Buddha,” Compassion of Buddha, and Wisdom of Buddha.Vajrapani is the “indestructible power of the Buddha” — helping us overcome the delusions, poisons and attachments that prevent our progress.

When you create art solely through your intuition and not driven by a concept, stories appear that cannot be predicted. This is how and why I began creating art. After completing a piece, I use the iChing to help me understand the meaning behind the work because otherwise, my left brain jumps in and begins to interfere with the truth.

Currently, I use a wonderful site called https://www.onlineclarity.co.uk to help me. It’s free and you can contribute to the site for your readings. There are many tools for guidance. Below is part of the reading for this image.

  • Key Questions
  • How to prepare for the crossing?
How will you know when it’s time?
  • Oracle
  • ‘Not yet across, creating success.
    The small fox, almost across,
    Soaks its tail:
    No direction bears fruit.’

When you are not yet across, you may be hesitating on the verge of a transition, trying to tell whether it’s safe to commit yourself. It’s time to use the skills of a wise fox Hexagram 50, the Vessel

Key Questions

What is the vessel for transformation?
What are you beginning?
What will you cook?

This marks a new beginning. The sacred Vessel is cast and used in the great ceremonies that inaugurate a new dynasty; the spirits are invited to share in the meal it contains, renewing their connection with the people. The Vessel provides stable, robust foundations for a new life, and also the crucible where you can expect to be transformed and remade.

The Vessel contains and transforms.

‘Above wood there is fire: the Vessel.
A noble one sets the situation straight and consolidates her destiny.’
