“I learned this, at least, by my experiment: that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.”
― Henry David Thoreau, Walden: Or, Life in the Woods
Time for a new direction. Time to leap off the cliff. It’s been a while. Raising kids for the past 25 years clearly presents it own set of parameters and while a parent can try to eek out jumps off the cliff with them while they are young, it becomes more daunting as personalities and needs evolve. If you have my kind of personality, you can’t really be held back. So despite limiting my ability to move around physically, it enabled me to take risks and move around freely through my creative process. There I found the opening and a way to satisfy my own personal need to be free.
Having jumped off many cliffs, this next one will be no different. A new process will coincide with a new move to a new country and letting all my belongings go. One thing is for certain, my work will shift accordingly and while not always pretty, I will be sharing the journey.
So bare with me if you want, or take a workshop and experience it.
“It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.”
― J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
